Retention analysis visualizes the ability of your game to retain players.
Use of retention requires you to specify two events:
- Entry event
- Return event
Rows represent number of unique players having the Entry event in given period. Columns represent number of unique player having the Return event in given period. So cells represent “number of players who had Entry event and then Return” in given time (cell).
There are three type of retention:
- Survival – % of players returned on the period in columns or after
- Exact – % of players returned exactly on the period in columns
- Saturation – % of players returned on the period in columns or before
